The Poverty Bay A&P Spring Show
Celebrating 151 years in 2026, the Poverty Bay A&P Spring Show is one of Tairāwhiti’s longest-running and most loved community events, proudly bringing town and country together since 1875. Held annually at the Gisborne Showgrounds, the two-day event attracts more than 30,000 visitors each year and is renowned throughout New Zealand for its mix of agriculture, entertainment, competition, and community spirit.
From the early days of horse-drawn wagons to today’s vibrant mix of rides, parades, competitions, and attractions, the Show has remained an important part of the region’s identity and heritage. It continues to celebrate the people, industries, traditions, and community connections that make Tairāwhiti unique.
Across the two days, visitors can experience everything the Poverty Bay A&P Show is famous for, including:

Combining rural tradition with family fun, the Poverty Bay A&P Spring Show remains a highlight on the Tairāwhiti calendar and a celebration of everything that makes our region special.

Become a Member
Join the Poverty Bay A&P Association and be part of one of Tairāwhiti’s most loved community events. Annual membership gives you access to exclusive benefits, including the opportunity to apply for reserved car parking at the Spring Show.
To become a member, simply complete the membership form and return it to our office along with payment by 20 May 2026. Forms can be submitted via email or post.
Membership Details:

Annual Membership: $75.00
-
Optional reserved car park: $25.00 (allocated via ballot)
Payment can be made via internet banking or EFTPOS at the Showgrounds office. Please ensure your payment includes your name as a reference.
Your membership confirmation, along with show tickets and car park details, will be sent out in August.
